Tristan Weymes

Director of Music

Tristan graduated with Distinction from the Royal Academy of Music’s prestigious Choral Conducting MA course, studying under Patrick Russill, where he earned the Thomas Armstrong Award, DipRAM, and a Regency award for all-round excellent studentship during his time there. Tristan has conducted the BBC Singers, Transylvania State Philharmonic Choir, and Carice Singers, amongst others. 

He has been Chorus Master for projects including Britten’s ‘War Requiem’ (LYC & Bach Choir under David Hill, 2024), Mahler’s ’Symphony of A Thousand’ (Tiffin & RPO under Ed Gardner, 2025), and Holst’s ’The Planets’ (LSSO & Guildhall, under Matthew Lynch, 2025) and premiered Oliver Leith’s 'Garland’ Bold Tendencies in 2025. In 2024, he placed 2nd in the ‘Magister Inside’ International Choral Conducting Competition (Arezzo, Italy), and won the 'Special Prize from the Choir’ in the final of the 2024 ‘Gheorghe Dima’ International Conducting Competition (Cluj-Napoca, Romania). Previously, he was Conducting Fellow of the Hertford Choral Society, (2022) Associate Conductor of the North Cotswolds Chamber Choir (2021), and a ‘Sing for Pleasure’ Young Conducting Scholar (2019).

His current roles include being Director of Music at St Mary the Virgin, Merton Park, Conductor of UCL and Guildford Chamber Choirs, the Walthamstow Singers, and London Youth Cambiata Boys’ Choir. He is also Director of Choral Music at Wilson’s School and a Singing Teacher at Tiffin School. Tristan is also Deputy Artistic Director and Choral Lead of Elysium, an organisation which aims to provide musical opportunities to young people who don’t have access to them. His work with youth choirs has involved roles with Tiffin School Choir, Inner Voices, Highbury Youth Choir, Frideswide Voices of Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford, as well as abroad. Tristan’s recent workshop engagements have led him to work with a variety of community and youth choirs: he has run workshops for organisations including the London Youth Choirs and Bach Choir, and regularly works with Nadine Benjamin MBE towards her Christmas ‘Everybody Can’ concerts.

Phoebe Tak Man Chow

Phoebe Tak Man Chow (BMus, MPerf, ARCO) is an award-winning London-based organist, répétiteur, accompanist, and choral director who has been active as a professional musician since 2011.

She has held Organist and Choral Director positions at St Martin-in-the-Fields (London), the Rodolfus Foundation (London), St Fin Barre's Cathedral (Ireland), and Emanuel School (London). She now works freelance, primarily as an accompanist and choral animateur, collaborating with organisations including the Royal Opera and Ballet, Pimlico Musical Foundation, St Martin-in-the-Fields, Grange Park Opera, London Youth Choir, and others.

While studying at the Royal College of Music, Phoebe was awarded the Flentrop Organ Scholarship and the Walford Davies Organ Prize, with her studies supported by the Organists' Charitable Trust.

Her performance career includes live broadcasts and recordings for Classic FM, BBC Radio, Irish National Television, the Britten Pears Foundation, the National Girls' Choir of Great Britain and performances at Lambeth Palace for state occasions.

Kate Ashby

Chorister Coach

Kate Ashby enjoys a busy career as a professional singer and teacher, specialising in early music. She grew up in Oxford and studied music at Trinity College, Cambridge, where she was a choral scholar under Richard Marlow. As a founder member of the early music vocal ensemble Stile Antico, Kate has toured the world and recorded twelve discs for Harmonia Mundi and three for Decca, garnering many awards including three GRAMMY nominations and two Gramophone' Disc of the Year awards. Over the years, she has also recorded and performed regularly with groups such as The Brabant Ensemble, The Cambridge Singers, and The Oxford Camerata, and for eleven years sang as amember of the choir of All Saints', Margaret Street.

Kate teaches singing at Orchard House Prep school in Chiswick and St Cecilia's C of E secondary school in Wandsworth. As part of her work with Stile Antico, she regularly leads workshops with adult amateur singers, as well as young aspiring professional singers, as part of the annual Youth Consort. She is a Trustee of the Rodolfus Foundation, and regularly visits courses to lead masterclasses in consort singing.
