A thriving church choir in Merton, we provide chorister training for singers aged between 7-18 years old, as well as bespoke training schemes for teenagers with changed voices singing Alto, Tenor, or Bass, who join our back row of volunteer singers and Lay Clerks.
Alongside Choral Scholarships, we also offer Organ Scholarships to those wishing to learn the instrument and play in services. For more information on how to join, contact the Director of Music, Tristan Weymes, through the email below.

St Mary’s Choir rehearse on Friday Evenings at St Mary the Virgin, Merton Park (SW19 3HJ), from 6-9pm. We sing at weekly Eucharists and Choral Evensongs, as well as on feast days and other major Church events.
The choir is open to members of all ages - our choristers are aged between 7-18 years old, and don’t have to come to it with any experience, just enthusiasm and a smile. Choristers are on a rota for services, and are paid a termly fee for their work. Our back row of Altos, Tenors, and Basses is mostly populated by adult volunteers from the St Mary’s Parish (some of whom were former choristers themselves!), as well as local teenagers keen to sing as Choral Scholars.
We offer Choral Scholarships to those above Year 10 in the choir across any voice part, which includes extra tuition and opportunities, in preparation for university Scholarships. There are also two Organ Scholarships on offer to those playing the instrument, providing regular service-playing opportunities and free one-on-one teaching from experts.
Our music team is made up of professionals in the choral music industry:
Director of Music: Tristan Weymes
Assistant Director of Music: Phoebe Tak Man Chow
